O Antiphons haiku

This Advent, for each day of the O Antiphons, I wrote a haiku taking that day's antiphon as its theme.

They are collected below ( I wrote two for O Adonai).

O Sapientia (O Wisdom)

Wisdom; let for once
your slow work in us exceed
easy words of praise.

O Adonai (O Lord)

For old miracles
prepare us, Lord; infant hands
crush our long-clenched fists.

Lord of open hands,
in whose face the lords of earth
see sundered spears.

O Radix Jesse (O Root of Jesse)

We must be dug up
from barren ground, and grafted
 to Jesse's great Root.

O Clavis David (O Key of David)

Beyond us and yet
in reach; if we but know Him
as both Key and door.

O Oriens (O Dayspring)

We choose our darkness,
shrinking, silent, lost; but He
is the questing Light.

O Rex Gentium (O King of the Nations)

Ev’ry tyrant knows,
and yet does not, the meaning
of this kingly child.

O Emmanuel (O God With Us)

He is the seeker
and the sought; coming to us
that we come to Him.
